The sale was a share sale and duly completed on time. Management Buyout of Barley Chalu Limited The Wymondham based company, Barley Chalu Limited, is the leading aluminium coating company in the United Kingdom and in this, its fortieth year, owner and former managing director Terry Chalu sold the company to the current management team (Richard Chalu, Douglas Carman, Mohammed Cheshem-Panam, Elizabeth Chalu and John Chalu). Terry Chalu continues to work with the company. The company, which employs 120 employees, operates from premises in Ayton Road, Wymondham and is looking to expand on its success over the last 40 years. The Directors said that the management buy out (MBO) secures the future of the company and will allow the management team and staff to look forward with confidence. The purchase of the company was funded by the Bank of Scotland, Norwich with Tim Procter organising the funding. Larking Gowen Corporate Finance (Stephen Reed) advised the management team in respect of the financial issues arising on the acquisition and the bank in respect of its requirements before lending. Rogers & Norton (Richard Etheridge assisted by Lauren Flint and Katherine Brown), acted on behalf of the management team and advised the team generally on all legal aspects of the transaction.
