Role:

Phil has substantial experience in dealing with regulatory issues and has advised and represented local employers in health and safety prosecutions brought by the Health & Safety Executive. He has dealt with regulatory issues involving the Office of Fair Trading, Trading Standards and the Environment Agency. He also has considerable experience in defending personal injury claims and in litigating contractual disputes.

Over the last few years, Phil has developed an increasing specialism in employment law. He regularly defends employers on a wide range of issues at tribunal. Phil also provides support to the firm's commercial department on TUPE issues and the drafting of contracts, restrictive covenants and company policies/handbooks. Phil provides advice on compromise agreements both to employers and employees.

Clients:

Phil works predominantly for the firm's commercial clients and has been on retainer to one of the UK 's leading home improvement companies for nearly 20 years. His breadth of experience has seen him act for many companies in the consumer retail, transport, manufacturing and construction sectors.

Career to date:

Phil studied law at the University of Exeter and trained with Eversheds before qualifying as a solicitor in 1990. He joined Rogers & Norton in 1992 and became a partner in 1995.

Phil is an associate shareholder/director of Ipswich Town Football Club and is honorary secretary of Swardeston Cricket Club. He plays in goal for Dereham Hockey Club.
