National Minimum Wage - Correction

We've noticed an error in this month's bulletin; the adult national minimum wage has been raised to £6.08 per hour (not £6.09 as said).

Please accept my apologies. The rates for younger workers and apprentices were set out correctly.

You will have read in various newspapers, for example the Daily Telegraph that unions are pressing for an increase in the minimum wage to £8 per hour. Fortunately for employers, the high rates of retail inflation expected in future years mean that there is pressure to keep wage inflation low, meaning dramatic future increases are unlikely.
