Position:

Finance Manager and Head of Accounts Department

Role:

Richard heads the Accounts Department, overseeing all aspects of accounting. He is responsible for Rogers & Norton's management accounts, staff payroll, purchase ledger and also has sole responsibility for the firm's nominal accounts. Richard works in tandem with the credit control partner as regards collection of the firm's outstanding debts. He is the prime contact with the firm's bankers for any financial dealings in relation to Rogers & Norton.

Career to date:

Richard was brought up in the village of Worstead , being educated at the local primary school until 1963. He then attended the Paston Grammar School at North Walsham until 1968, where he then achieved enough 'O' levels to join the Midland Bank, working at its Prince of Wales Road, Norwich, branch until 1970. He then joined the well-known local accountancy firm of Lovewell Blake, where he received an excellent grounding in all aspects of auditing and accountancy. In 1977 Richard was offered the position of cashier at law firm Leathes Prior, where he remained until 1985 when he joined Rogers & Norton as Head of Finance.

After work:

In his younger days Richard was a keen sportsman and played both football and lawn tennis for a number of years, in addition to being an ardent follower of Norwich City FC. Although he physically only participates in the odd game of tennis these days and also gets out in the fresh Norfolk air for some walking or cycling, Richard still takes a great interest in local sport. Other than his family, his other interests are ornithology, photography, coarse fishing and music (mainly classic and progressive rock).
